A LIFELINE FOR NIGERIA’S UNDERSERVED ELDERLY

Nigeria is growing older, but access to affordable, age-appropriate healthcare has not kept pace. The population aged 65+ rose from about 2 million in 1980 to 6 million in 2020 and is projected to reach 16 million by 2050.

THE UHC GAP

Nigeria has made policy progress on ageing, but recent national health reforms do not specifically address geriatric care or the needs of the ageing population.

With families carrying nearly three-quarters of health spending out of pocket, even treatable illness can become a financial crisis for an older adult and their family.

WHAT WE'RE DOING

Oduduwa Geriatric Healthcare is a Lifetime Missions clinic in Ile-Ife, led by a licensed medical team and sustained by donor generosity.

✓ Free medical consultations

✓ Free medications

✓ Physiotherapy

✓ Healthcare education

No patient is turned away because they cannot afford care.

DIGNITY. CARE. HOPE.

Every patient who walks through our doors is someone's mother or father, grandmother or grandfather - an elder whose life has value and whose dignity deserves to be protected. At Lifetime Missions, we believe every person deserves compassionate care regardless of ability to pay.

Your gift keeps the clinic doors open, essential medications on the shelves, and our licensed medical team caring for elderly Nigerians who might otherwise go without treatment.

If you are able to serve for a short-term or explore a longer-term opportunity at the clinic, your presence can help us continue providing much needed healthcare to the elderly in the communities we serve. Contact us to embark on the mission trip.
